Hello, my name is Robert, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as Editor-In-Chief of the History Review. We are a fledgling journal seeking to publish and celebrate the very best of undergraduate-level history, epitomising a longstanding tradition of undergraduate start-up journals. I cannot wait to get involved in realising the potential of the British Undergraduate Review, and efforts to bring together a team for the History Review are proving very successful indeed.
My interests are as disparate as Renaissance Florence, American expansion and Tudor England, though my main interests lie in the twentieth century. My dissertation will focus on sociologies of violence under politically extreme regimes in Europe, with an emphasis on uncovering the impact of ideology and morality on interpersonal and group violence.
The History Review is keen to seek out as broad a range of interests as possible, both in our writing and in our editorial team, and so we are recruiting a large number of Referees. This job involves the scrutiny and review of different submissions based on your own historical interests. Similarly, we are looking for one each of a Commissioning Editor, who will receive and anonymise submissions, as well as a Typesetting Editor who will format the journal and edit individual articles alongside myself.
